Search Engine Optimization Pricing
Sunday, December 20th, 2009Michael Baker asked:
Search engine optimization pricing is really a difficult number to come up with. And if you want proof, just check out all of the companies out there offering search engine optimization (SEO). These companies’ prices are all over the place, but mostly because they offer different twists and services within their SEO program. Below are some of the items you should look at when comparing search engine optimization pricing.
Don’t look at price. Look at the services. If you look at price, you will end up deciding on a service based on price and not value or what you really need. There are plenty of people and companies out there offering full blown web site SEO for dirt cheap prices. Be careful of these, because you will get what you pay for. If they tell you they can guarantee #1 ranking in less than 30 days, I would be skeptical. This usually ends up involving black hat techniques, and is a short term fix. Also, it might get you fully banned from the search engine index. Ensure they offer the basics: title tags, Meta tags, optimization of certain areas of the text, and keyword density. These are basics in SEO.
Here are the additional goodies, which can add a tremendous amount of value:
Do they offer search engine submissions? This will allow the one stop shopping. They will optimize the site, and submit it. This is good for you and that company doing SEO. They can ensure your site was submitted properly, and follow up with it each month and track its progress. Do they offer one way link building? This is a must. Reciprocal links do not work. You need a link out there pointing directly to your website. Companies now are offering this service. If you choose this awesome service, ensure they are not submitting to FFA type sites. Also, ensure the sites are at least PR2 or higher. Some will even offer PR5 and PR6 sites, but be prepared to pay for this. Advice: Do they offer advice and support? I would hope so.
Search engine optimization is not a 100 meter dash. It is a marathon. It takes time to build the links and get the site optimized. And, over time, your site will begin to increase in the rankings. Just remember to look at the above items when trying to compare search engine optimization pricing.
